Construction is progressing on a new 337-unit luxury apartment building in Jersey City’s fast-changing West Side neighborhood, the project’s general contractor said Monday.
The builder, JRM Construction Management LLC, is working at 49 Fisk St. on behalf of Halpern Real Estate Ventures. The project is redeveloping what was a former industrial building with a six-story, 322,750-square-foot residential property, with amenities such as a courtyard, a roof deck and a fitness center, plus features including a keyless entry system, upgraded technology and electric vehicle charging stations.
“This property is set to become an oasis for all those who love health, wellness and luxurious living,” said Kevin Griffin, a JRM principal. “We aim to provide the best amenities for the tenants with these new upgrades. We foresee great success with this property and are passionate about bringing an elevated living experience to Jersey City.”
JRM noted that the project team also includes Minno & Wasko Architects & Planners, O’Donnell & Naccarato, Meshberg Group Architects PC and VVA. According to its website, the contractor is building the structure with spread footings and grade beams, a cast-in-place concrete podium, X-braced metal framing, trusses and wood framing, with a building envelope that includes private balconies, brick, metal panels, cement fiberboards and aluminum-clad windows.
The firm coordinated the project using 3-D BIM modeling, according to a news release.
