The developers of a new 209-unit apartment building in Orange are off to a fast start after the launch of leasing, having rented more than 60 percent of the property in just three months.
Located at 377 Crane St., the project by Russo Development and Dinallo Construction Corp. has lured residents with its upscale homes and some 23,000 square feet of amenity space, the firms said. They also touted its location just north of Interstate 280 and adjacent to NJ Transit’s Orange station, providing multiple ways to access what’s known as Essex & Crane.
The momentum comes amid the recent start of construction on the project’s second phase.
“The demand for luxury living with the ease of commuting has been central to the success of Essex & Crane,” said Adam Pasternack, president of Russo Property Management. “Bringing our Vermella brand to Orange not only encapsulates Mayor (Dwayne) Warren’s vision of the Main Street Redevelopment Area — but the pace of leasing also demonstrates that we are offering a home that fits people’s lifestyles that has not yet been available in the area.”
Designed by MHS Architecture, Essex & Crane has a mix of floorplans ranging from studios to three bedrooms, with amenities such as elevated outdoor terraces, grilling stations, a high-end fitness center and structured parking. Leasing activity indicates that two-bedrooms are of specific interest to new residents, Russo said, citing the ability to create a home office or a bonus space and the convenience for residents who operate on a hybrid work schedule.
The project is Russo and Dinallo’s third joint venture for a residential development and part of Orange’s fast-growing stock of new apartments. According to a news release, Russo directly manages the property and provides residents with on-site community activities such as barbeques, weekend brunches, viewing parties for sporting events and fitness classes.
