Studio 1200 has broadened its leadership team with the addition of Annie Boccella Savage as a design director, the Short Hills-based firm announced Wednesday.
In a news release, the practice said Savage will oversee the design direction and execution of projects as well as head up its visioning strategy in areas such as artificial intelligence tools and protocol. She comes to the role with 15 years of experience and most recently was a design director with Kohn Pederson Fox, where she led the team in a competition-winning design for the adaptive reuse of One Madison Avenue in Manhattan into a high-end office tower.
Savage also designed projects at Hudson Yards as well as multiple prominent office spaces including lobbies and amenities.
“Annie joins us at an exciting time,” said Sandee Markwith, a Studio 1200 principal. “We are thrilled to welcome her and look forward to incorporating her skills and vision into our standards.”
A licensed architect, Savage earned her bachelor’s from Cornell University and a master’s from Pratt Institute, the news release said. She is an active AIA member, having served on the Global Dialogues Committee, and is a youth lacrosse coach.
