A developer has secured a key zoning board approval for a new 46,000-square-foot retail center in Toms River, according to a design team with Tokarski Millemann Architects.
The firm said the project, located at Route 9 and Whitty Road, is part of a mixed-use development that includes 175 apartments and townhomes on an adjacent portion of the site. Tokarski Millemann has designed the retail phase on behalf of Dover Summit Associates LLC, noting that it consists of two buildings between adjacent wooded parcels and will be accessible by foot from the residential area.
The Toms River zoning board unanimously approved the project at a meeting in late March.
