A new Lidl store is coming to Passaic County after leasing more than 27,000 square feet at Urban Edge Properties’ Totowa Commons complex on Route 46.
According to the property owner, the value grocer will join the 271,516-square-foot power center alongside The Home Depot, Staples and Fortunoff Backyard. The new space at 545 Route 46 West will provide it with a location at the nexus of multiple highways, also including Route 23 and Interstate 80, where it’s easily accessible to residents of Totowa, Little Falls, Woodland Park, Fairfield and West Caldwell.
Mike Testa and Bill Farkas of Jeffery Realty Inc. represented Lidl in the 27,270-square-foot deal, while Leigh Lyons handled the transaction in-house for Urban Edge Properties.
“Lidl is a popular and in-demand value grocer that brings a new use to Totowa Commons,” Lyons, a senior vice president of with the real estate investment trust. “This is their second location in Passaic County, and we expect that it will increase regular traffic and visits to the center.”
In a news release, Urban Edge noted that Lidl operates more than 12,000 stores and is active in 32 countries. Its Totowa location will also be less than three minutes from the Willowbrook Mall and Wayne Town Center.
