Woodmont Properties is marking a leasing milestone at its new project in Metuchen, a 273-unit rental community just steps from the borough’s train station and downtown.
The developer said last week that the property, Woodmont Metro at Metuchen Station, had reached full occupancy within its 163-unit first phase. Woodmont is now leasing the next phase, known as its east wing, as it formally unveiled the property on New Street.
“Woodmont Properties has been a tremendous partner on this community and we’re extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” Metuchen Mayor Peter Cammarano said last week, joining Woodmont executives including CEO Eric Witmondt, Chairman Donald Witmondt, President Lewis Zlotnick and Executive Vice President and General Counsel Stephen Santola.
The project is the largest and most high-profile addition to the borough’s downtown in decades, following a redevelopment process that spanned several years. For Woodmont, a Fairfield-based developer, it is the latest addition to a multifamily pipeline that has grown considerably over the past decade.
Woodmont Metro features a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and amenities such as a rooftop terrace, fitness center and game room with sports bar and billiards table. Other offerings include an indoor pet spa, a courtyard swimming pool, outdoor fireplace and barbeque grilling areas.
“With every one of our communities, we work hand in hand with local officials to ensure that the end result will fit seamlessly with the character of their towns,” Santola said. “Metuchen is certainly no exception, as many can attest to firsthand. We are extremely excited to mark the official opening of Woodmont Metro, which will bring a new energy and vibrancy to the area.”
