The Connell Co. has unveiled the second location of its membership-based luxury fitness and wellness club at The Park, its flagship business and lifestyle campus in Berkeley Heights.
Known as Fieldhouse, the facility at 400 Connell Drive is the first business to open within a 12-acre site known as The District at The Park that’s now under development. The 28,000-square-foot building is available for memberships and tenants of The Park, offering modern training equipment and programming such as Pilates, yoga, boxing and meditation, while seeking to provide a more social experience for those who use the space.
Still to come at The District are 328 residential units and 185,000 square feet of entertainment, dining and retail offerings that will diversify the office campus long known as Connell Corporate Park, which spans 185 acres just south of Interstate 78.

“The Park is undergoing a $500 million transformation from office campus to a 24/7 live-work-stay destination,” said Shane Connell, executive vice president at the Connell Co. “As the inaugural business to open within The District at The Park, Fieldhouse plays a pivotal role in our goal to recast The Park’s workspaces as a five-star luxury work resort that fosters a new culture of work/life balance as well as add destination wellness concepts to the campus.
“With its elevated suite of fitness and wellness uses, Fieldhouse embodies the essence of The Park’s ethos, which is to create a compelling place for tenants and the surrounding community to come together — whether it’s before, during or after the workday.”
According to a news release, a team of experienced fitness professionals leads programming at Fieldhouse, a concept that originated within one of The Park’s five office buildings. They include Fitness Director Ryan Kennedy, Nutrition Director Tara Tomaino, Holistic Coach Susan Labunski and Manager Austin Bardaji.
Members will also have access to a game room with a ping pong table, a pool table, coworking space, a dedicated meditation room to promote wellbeing, nap and recovery rooms, in-house nutritionists to guide personalized wellness journeys, personal training and a mix of social programming, the news release said. Those offerings will be available to members as well as tenants at the campus, including L’Oreal, Fiserv, Bristol Myers Squibb, HP and Samsung.
The Park is also home to a 176-room Embassy Suites hotel, Grain & Cane restaurant, Starbucks, Life Time Fitness, outdoor walking and jogging trails and Round Table Studios, a 44,000-square-foot coworking space offering workstations, private offices and community spaces.
