JRM Construction Management is marking the completion of a project known as Birch House, a development that has brought 337 apartments to Jersey City’s West Side.
The firm, whose New Jersey team is based in East Rutherford, worked on behalf of Halpern Real Estate Ventures to build the roughly 323,000-square-foot project at 49 Fisk St. It noted that the six-story building has brought new luxury studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes to the burgeoning neighborhood with a modern design and a focus on sustainability.
JRM constructed the property with advanced techniques including spread footings, grade beams, a concrete-in-place podium and what’s known as COMSLAB metal framing.

“We are thrilled to unveil Birch House, a project that reflects JRM’s commitment to excellence and enhances the fabric of Jersey City,” said Kevin Griffin, JRM’s vice president of core and shell. “This development offers a unique blend of luxury and practicality, designed to meet the dynamic needs of its residents.”
Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, Birch House also has private balconies, brick and metal panels, cement fiberboards and aluminum-clad windows, according to a news release. Amenities include a fitness center, a work lounge, a game room, a speakeasy bar lounge and an expansive courtyard pavilion and roof deck.
JRM added that the property has the potential to expand to 150 additional units. The firm worked alongside client representative VVA, Minno & Wasko and structural engineers with O’Donnell & Naccarato.
