A new 114-unit apartment building in Jersey City has welcomed its first residents, drawing a new crop of renters to a historic neighborhood near Liberty State Park.
Alpine Residential and FieldsGrade, the developers behind what’s known as The Hazel, recently launched leasing at the mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes at 89 Monitor St. The firms announced this week that move-ins are now underway, as it works alongside The Marketing Directors to draw traffic to the six-story property.
Net-effective monthly rents start at $2,240, with a grand opening incentives.
“We’re thrilled to welcome our first residents and begin the important process of building a community at The Hazel,” said Bill Rosato, managing partner of Alpine Residential. “The first move-ins will help bring The Hazel to life as residents begin to actively enjoy its upscale apartments and modern indoor and outdoor amenities, social spaces and premium services.”
Located between Maple Street and Johnston Avenue, The Hazel has brought new life to parcels that housed an aging apartment building and a warehouse. It’s also part of the Jersey City’s distinctive Bergen-Lafayette section, an area known for its eclectic art, dining and nightlife scene and accessibility to Liberty State Park, the downtown and mass transit options.
Fogerty Finger Architecture designed the upscale building, which has amenities such as a rooftop terrace, a sky lounge with New York City views, outdoor courtyards, co-working space and a high-end fitness center. Other offerings include a package room, bike storage and covered parking with electric car charging stations, along with TULU, an on-demand smart rental store for residents that offers household and lifestyle products.
South Oxford Management, an affiliate of the developer, manages the property.
