The effort represents more than $300 million in total investment and has been touted as a way to put New Brunswick on par with other major college towns across the country.
The opening of The Yard follows last year’s completion of a 550-bed honors college along George Street and a newly built facility for the New Brunswick Theological Seminary, which was relocated in order to make way for the Rutgers project. Next week, Devco and Rutgers are slated to open the university’s first academic building on the campus in decades.
